How long will it take to get my chair upholstered?
From quote confirmation and deposit received, it takes 4-6 weeks. We do our best to deliver your chair within this time frame, but during holiday periods it may take slightly longer.
How long does it take to get a fabric designed, printed and then upholstered on my chair?
From quote confirmation and deposit received, 1-2 weeks for the design process, 2 weeks for pre-press preparations and printing. I will always send you a sample of the fabric before printing, so the faster it is approved, the sooner we can start the printing process. Upholstery and delivery 4-6 weeks. Total = 10 weeks maximum.
Who actually upholsters my chair?
I have a fantastic team of upholsterers based in Sydney who have decades of experience repairing, finishing and upholstering chairs, sofas, bed-heads, ottoman, benches and all types of seating. If it has fabric on it, they can do it. They really are masters of their craft!
Who collects and delivers my chair?
I do! My trusty little van and I travel the Sydney region, meeting clients, ensuring you get the best possible service and that your chair arrives on time.
Sometimes, when things get too busy, I will ask one of my upholstery team to deliver your finished chair.
How does the collection and delivery work?
If I only need to deliver a chair that you bought, it’s a one-time trip. If you have a chair that I need to collect for upholstery, I will need to deliver it back to you once it’s done. That’s a double trip, and therefore cost more than a single delivery trip. See here for Delivery costs
Where do you deliver to?
Who designs the fabrics and where are they printed?
I have been an artist and designer for over 16 years, and have designed art, fabrics and chairs for residential, hospitality and retail clients. Every fabric is hand designed by me, then transferred into a digital file, and prepared on Photoshop/Illustrator for printing. All printing is carried out in Sydney. We love to support local business – and it also ensures I have total quality control.
What if I don’t like my chair or fabric once it’s done?
I am happy to say that I have never encountered this problem in my 16 years in business. My focus is to listen and understand your ideas and needs, then deliver on them. I work closely with my clients and will keep you in the loop at all stages. I never start a job without your consent and after you have received all details of the job. Payment of the deposit indicates that you have approved and are happy with all aspects of the job. For further details, please see the T&Cs
I am nervous about reupholstering my inherited chair. It means so much to me.
I totally understand how hard it it to change the look of a chair that reminds you of a loved one. And I also understand that you want to breathe new life into your precious chair, ready to be loved for many years to come. That is why together we will chose fabrics and finishes that are respectful to the chair’s heritage, but that will also reflect your home and life today. And I promise that my upholsterers will take good care of your chair while in the workshop.
Why does my Paypal payment say ‘Quadra Pan Pacific Pty Ltd’?
I Love My Chair is a trading name within the Quadra Pan Pacific group and therefore your Paypal statement will indicate this. Don’t worry – your payment will be received by me and your job will be carried out by me.
Can you repair and reupholster antique chairs?
Yes. If your chair needs specialist attention I will ensure a professional in antique restoration or finishing will undertake the job. The may be additional costs for this specialist service.
Do you send out fabric samples?
Absolutely. Once we have established your ideas and needs, I will source 8-10 fabric samples for you. I will pop them in the post free of charge. All you need to do is choose one and we’re away!
How do I pay?
When buying my services (upholstery, repair, fabric and chair design, chair sourcing, fabric sourcing) I will send you a detailed quote with my bank details (BSB and account number) and my Paypal email address. You can pay by either method. The final invoice will have the same details. When buying from the Studio Luxe collection, simply follow the check out process. You can also pay with credit card for Studio Luxe.
Why is there a 2.4% fee when I pay with Paypal for your services?
Paypal charge a transaction fee for businesses. Keeping my prices as low as reasonably possible is important to me and my clients, which is why I prefer bank transfer or credit card for payment.
Do you offer Gift Cards?
If you would like to offer a chair or upholstery/design service to a friend or family member, I can provide a lovely Gift Card. Please contact me here.
Is My Bespoke Chair also your business?
Yes! The design-your-own chair website is linked to I Love My Chair but is an independent website which I built in 2012. It’s an exciting way to buy a new chair and design it exactly how you want it. I create all the chairs with the same great team of upholsterers as with I Love My Chair. Same people, just a different offering!
Do you also work with corporates and small businesses?
Yes – I can offer all my services to businesses looking to either reupholster existing office, reception, waiting room or break out zone furniture. I can also design fabrics which will reflect your company’s brand. Contact me here.
Do you sell wholesale to trade?
I don’t offer wholesale to trade per se, but I do work with interior designers and industry professionals. I love a good teamwork project! If you are interested in working with me, contact me here.
Which fabrics can you source?
I love using Warwick Fabrics, Designers Guild, Ralph Lauren, Unique and Zepel. However, I can source any fabric from nearly anywhere. If you see a particular fabric and would like your chair upholstered in it, let me know and I’ll order it. If you see a fabric in a magazine or online and you’re not sure where it comes from, I’ll hunt it down for you.
Can I order cushions?
Yes, great idea! Let me know the sizes and styles and I can get those made for you too.
I already have a fabric I bought ages ago. Can I use that?
Yes you can, if it is suitable for upholstery, though I will have to charge a ‘corkage’ fee of $40.
How do I care for my chairs?
I strongly suggest you spray your newly upholstered or new Studio Luxe chair with Scotchguard as soon as it arrives. If an accident should happen at any stage in the future, let me know and I’ll advise you. I’ll be writing a blog post about this at some stage, so check out the blog section to this site.
